WhatsApp Said Goodbye to Most of The Cell Phones
According to WhatsApp authorities, older cell phones with an old operating system (Symbian is one of them) will no longer be supported. Few of these phones belong to the Nokia Company as they have been using the Symbian OS for quite a while and mobile phones of the “ASHA” series. So, the people who have been and are still using old Nokia phones it is time for an upgrade.
The service owned by Facebook made things quite clear by saying that most of the devices today that are running S60 Symbian, Blackberry operating system, windows mobile phones and its older versions will not be supported anymore. The reason is it does not meet the conditions for upgrading the WhatsApp application so most of the Nokia phone users will be affected as a result.
As WhatsApp has already stopped working on most of the mobile phones on 31st of December which included Nokia S40 and in the next year from February 1st, you won’t be able to use this fantastic messaging service on Android version 2.3.7 and older, same goes with iPhone operating system version 7.0 and older.
The authorities said it was a tough decision to make, but the right one, in order to give people better opportunities to keep in touch with their family, friends and their loved ones using WhatsApp. If you are using one of the below affected mobile devices, we recommend using an upgraded version of Android and iOS devices to keep enjoying this astonishing messaging application.
